Supporting One of Our Own: Help Arthur Beat Neuroblastoma

At Cooke Painter, we think of our team as a family, and right now one of our family needs us.

Many of you will know Maxine, who has been part of the firm for almost twenty years. Her young grandson, Arthur, is facing a battle no child should ever have to fight.

Just after his second birthday, in July 2025, Arthur was diagnosed with high-risk metastatic neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer. In the year since, this brave little boy has been through more than most of us will ever have to endure: rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, several surgeries, and proton beam radiotherapy in London. Through all of it, he has shown a strength that has humbled everyone around him.

Recently his family received the hardest news imaginable. Arthur’s cancer has spread, and the NHS has exhausted the options available to cure him. His family, however, are not ready to give up. They are exploring specialist treatment overseas in the hope of giving Arthur the best possible chance, and they are raising funds to make that possible. The costs are considerable, covering not only the treatment itself but the travel, accommodation and living expenses that come with it.

As a firm, we have already made a contribution to Arthur’s fundraising campaign. But the most powerful thing any of us can do is help spread the word.

Every share puts Arthur’s story in front of more people, and every person who sees it is someone who might be able to help. If you are able to donate, however small the amount, it will be gratefully received. And if donating isn’t possible, please take a moment to share this with your friends, family and networks. It costs nothing and it means everything.

On behalf of Maxine, Arthur and all of his family, thank you.
